Chamber music is a part of music education that is often overlooked in Hong Kong, as it is difficult for young musicians to get together amidst the various extracurricular activities. However, we believe it is the most effective way to learn and therefore we strive to provide a platform to facilitate chamber music rehearsals.
At the starting level, chamber music teaches us how to keep the pulse even if we make a mistake. By keeping the pulse, we will know when and where to join back in instead of letting the music fall apart. This is essentially the principle of sight-reading, though when sight-reading alone, we have less of a drive to keep ourselves from stopping.
